I have gotten so busy with taking people pictures and then with the holidays that I stopped taking pictures of nature and landscapes. On my way home from a session, I saw this breathtaking view and knew if I didn’t stop (on the side of the road, no less), I would regret it. So I pulled over and spent 10 minutes just taking pictures.
This picture was taken right before the sun burst out from the clouds. The shutter speed was 1/4000, f-stop at 4. My focal length was 55mm.

I have been so busy with the holidays and trying to get all my ducks in a row, that I have not had time to post any new pictures. I have taken some of family, some of strangers (many thanks to those of you who are letting me expand my portfolio with your children and family!), and some of landscapes or nature. So, I want to share some of the people pictures with you. I will share the landscapes/nature pictures as well as our Christmas pictures and some fantastic pictures of my children, in the next post. I am so happy that it seems my skills are growing in leaps and bounds.
This first one is my new niece. She was born 5 weeks early. In this picture, she is one week old. She slept through the entire shoot! I decided to do something a bit different with this picture and I added a little colorspot to it. Normally, I tend to leave pictures as either black and whites or sepias, but this picture just screamed for something more. This picture’s shutter speed was 1/125, f-stop at 4.5. My focal length was 30mm.

These twins were so active! And quite adorable. They were full of energy and about the only way I could get them in frame together was by picking flowers. This picture’s shutter speed was 1/200, f-stop at 6.3. My focal length was 86mm.

This little boy was just a couple or 3 months old. His mom wanted something to commemorate his first Christmas and found the hat and tinsel boa. I really thought some of his pictures needed that vintage “Christmas Story” look to them. I had a lot of fun turning this picture into something his mom will love! This picture’s shutter speed was 1/125, f-stop at 4.5. My focal length was 30mm.
